Baja Soul Patrol Update 5, 2010

Friday the closing of our week of Easter Bible School arrived all too quickly and with a great noise, the sound of 80 children screaming, laughing and singing. It was an awesome day. We had a very full house but it was a wonderful time in Jesus. We had prizes for the child who brought the most friends, the children who did not miss a single day, and for the ones who memorized all the Bible verses over the whole week. We had a little carnival on Friday with 3 jumpers, a swing-set, and basketball for the bigger kids. We played with bubbles and played ball with the kids and just had a great time.

It was so cool to see the kids so happy and having fun we even had a few of the kids from the week show up on Sunday for church too. God is good and we truly reap what we sow!

Again, I want to thank everyone who helped with this huge undertaking and made it possible, Thank you! We are blessed to be partnered with you and thank the Lord for you in our lives. We are truly reaching out to the people, adults and children alike of Mexico with the love of Jesus.

All our love and prayers,

His servants and yours the Barnets,

Scott, Jeanine, Annalyn and Kenny

Hope you enjoy the pictures!

Day three down of our Easter Vacation Bible School, we really started the week off with a bang.

Monday we had 40 children come and Tuesday 43 and today even more. We are playing games, singing songs, learning Bible verses, coloring and arts and crafts projects, all this along with puppets and dramas and snacks and lots and lots of fun. I even take my little squirt guns to keep order and discipline. We are all having so much fun. Truly it is a blessing and the kids cannot wait for us to arrive each morning. Even some children arrive early to help with set up and cleaning just to get there. We are all excited for Friday; we are going to have 3 jumper’s and prizes to the children who memorized all the Bible verses and the child who brought the most friends, and the person who did not miss a day. It should be a fun packed day. We will be serving a lunch of hotdogs, fruit and candy bags. We want to thank you again for all your help and prayers with this event; it truly has been a blessed time with the children.

God bless you and thanks again,

His servants and yours,

The Barnets,

Scott, Jeanine, Kenny, Annalyn and Pastors Abram, Angie and the Church of River of His Throne.

God is so good and faithful. Our mechanic looked at our damaged Explorer and told us the damage was not as bad as it looked. Then he went out and found the back hatch/ glass we needed and the side mirror that was smashed by a drunk driver. He was able to get all stuff for a little less than $100.00 plus his fee for fixing it all. The cheapest we were able to locate in the states was going to cost us $225.00.

This is awesome and a big relief. I know God is good and he takes care of his children. I appreciate all your prayers, now rejoice with us in how good our God is the knowledge the he will supply all our needs according to his riches and glory.

Thanks again for standing with us, prayer avails much.

God bless you and keep you,

His servant and yours, Jeanine

Please pray for us, we woke up this am to find our Explorer has once again been the target of Tijuana thugs. The whole back gate hatch/window has been destroyed. We need this car for the week of our Easter vacation Bible school. We have more people going with us then we have room to transport. Please be praying for us. We need to hear from God on what he wants us to do, stay here or move to another house. We hate leaving where we are but this is getting to be expensive, more than 600.00 a year in costs to repair the damages and or stolen batteries and such. We trust the Lord in this, but truly need some prayer and guiding in this matter. With people living with us this makes it seem impossible financially to be able to move, but we know with God nothing is impossible.

We love you dearly and appreciate your prayers and love for us.

Thank you and God bless you,

Jeanine

Walt Update

Thank you for your prayers for my father and please continue, my father is out of surgery and all went wonderfully. He is in recovery and will be placed in a room shortly.
They were able to do it through the lapriscopic method and that is a blessing of God.
God bless you and we love you,
Jeanine

We could sure use some help and your prayers please. Easter week we are going to do an Easter vacation Bible school, March 27 through April 2. We are doing this at our church, Rio de su Trono with Angie and Abram. We will do an Easter lesson, arts and crafts, songs, stories, games, snacks and prizes. It will be a fun time with the kids and a great way to minister to the neighborhood. We are very excited to do this.

But, we need a few things. If you have any leftover plastic Easter eggs you’re not using and you do not mind parting with, we could sure use them. Anything Easter that you do not want that you think we could use for arts and crafts and such we would truly appreciate your help in this. We did an outreach on Sunday and truly we could have 50 kids easy maybe more. We also need candy if anyone wants to help with that. I will be in Washington March 5 -16 helping my Mom and Dad out after my Dads surgery on the 8th of March. I will not be able leave their house as I will be working, but things could be dropped off to me, and I will bring them home with me.

Thanks and please keep us in your prayers as we minister to the children of this area. Please pray for new souls and for Jesus to truly minister to the children this week and the parents too.

We love you and appreciate all you do for us and with us.

Jeanine
Well, Praise God I arrived home safe and sound with my feet running. We are already preparing for a Hotdog outreach on Saturday at Abram and Angies church (ours too). We are going to do free haircuts for the community along with food baskets of rice and beans, lunch and free puppet show. We are excited to get to do this as it will be our first with Rio de su Trono (River of his Throne). We are thrilled to be back to work, how I missed it. Of course now I am missing all of you. My time with you all in Washington was a blessing beyond words, again thank you.

Not all things are perfect here, as the devil is still fighting. Still no word on a job for Abram but we have been told we will get a date this week for his appointment with the consulate. Abrams car is now broken down too and of course he cannot work without his car. Things are worse than ever with the parking but God is good and I know my Father has a plan for us. We are choosing to trust in God and be at peace in all things.

We are a blessed people and serve a mighty God. Please continue to hold us up in prayer for our work down here. We love you completely and count you one of our blessings.

The Barnets of:
